  5. Tiiiiiiiiiiiny success

The ones I got from you are pumping out the tads! Be nervy, but chirping away like a mad thing.
  6. Tiiiiiiiiiiiny success

what time does bp gas station open 4 of these spotty bellies( couldn’t fit in image) doing the no pants dance in the condesation. Venri=belly maculata=spotty hence venrimaculata you can imagine a zoologists with a jar full of these in the jungle.
  9. Orchid blooms

Lovely little plant that. The smallest I have is Schoenorchis fragrans, I have it mounted on cork up high in the mysti viv, it gets a spray once a day.
  10. Earlier
  11. Orchid blooms

that was the one I had (that’s not mine) while plant was 25mm across
  12. Orchid blooms

I had a tiny birds crest one like a fan. The tree fern panel it was on must have only been 20x30 mm cost about 30 quid. I managed to rot it in 3 weeks. Quite an achievement. Got another minuscule one in pum viv out of spray line seems to be ok.
  13. Orchid blooms

Would love to see a photo if you could get one mate, maybe you could try a magnifying glass/camera combo? I've got well into the orchids, not sure if I can cram any more species into my two vivs though (maybe some Barbosella species ).
  14. Orchid blooms

I e got I think a pleurithalis (poss Stellis can’t remember) ? Or something like that flowering at the mo the flowers are so small that you can barely tell if they are open or not like 2-3 mm. Going to orchid up my next build
  15. Orchid blooms

Scaphosepalum verrucosum, these are tiny so sorry for the sub par phone photo.
  16. Orchid blooms

  17. Orchid blooms

Restrepia brachypus and Aerangis fastuosa blooms from this morning.
  18. dart frogs needs

Tbh mate if you e got a 900 viv I’d leave that one as it is.tincs are not good mixers anyway . Why don’t you use the bigger viv to house some more frogs. Have a bigger more terrestrial group frog like auratus? Then have a more arboreal thumbnail group too variabilis, vanzolinii or amazonica they would utilise all the viv height. I know you’ve only got males but nothing beats watching the breeding courting egg/tad deposition you could leave a group of Vanzos to do it all themselves. Waterfall wise they are generally a ball ache.if I did another I’d have the pump outside the tank which in itself creates more work. If you had small accessible pump in one corner of your exo protected in your substrate layer the base would act like a big bio filter. I’ve kind of done this with an overflow included so it’s topped up with misting water then now and again I empty a few litres of spring water in. I’m not overly happy with it though
  19. dart frogs needs

I bet they'd all really enjoy the extra height, would be a good chance to create some nice levels with wood/vines etc. Any reason for choosing the exo terra?Have you considered having a viv custom built (it's not as expensive as you think)?
  20. dart frogs needs

at the moment I have a exo-terra 90x45x45cm but was thinking of getting the 90x45x90cm I have 7 frog all together 2 yellow banded frog 3 dyeing dart frog 2 blue azureus I have never had any problem with them all living together
  21. dart frogs needs

Vivarium size and orientation depend very much on the species of frogs and how many you are keeping. Waterfalls are not necessary, I've never attempted one myself if you decide to build one make sure you do lots of research, it would be a shame to spend money on your build and it not work out. I use the European style vivariums with sloping glass bottom and water gulley, I do keep water in the gulleys along with the aquatic plant Limnobium laevignatum (frogbit), water changes are carried out at least weekly, my frogs like to deposit tadpoles in the water.
  22. dart frogs needs

what are the dart frogs needs in relation to terrarium size as I am thinking of building another terrarium but a lot better setup than I have now so is it the length or height that is must important also what is the need for water a dish a waterfall this will not be male female setup just the males I have now thanks for any help you give
  23. Costa Rican blue jeans.

Yep. Have a few here in S.London.
  24. Costa Rican blue jeans.

Hi is any one still working with Costa Rican blue jeans. An old import that came in from Germany quite a few years ago.
  25. Thrifty duo viv

Dp cheers. Depending on sexes behaviour etc it is entirely possible he/she will be available and possibly coming to a viv near you.....
  26. Thrifty duo viv

Yeah they are getting there I was thinking the boldness had been exaggerated but while I was cutting back plants a couple really couldn’t be bothered to move. I tell you what thy don’t like. Springtails. there are more in that viv than in some of my cultures. So once again against froggy rules I’ve added a few thumbs to clean up the clean up crew they are half grown (southern variabilis) the bi color are half grown neither of them could give s damn about the other. They will occupy walls branches broms the bi color oblivious to them on the floor. I added two yesterday (one still to morph/grow on) one hopped straight past biggest bi c he never moved then they’ve settled up top. Same as my leucs santa and French Guyana and now triv viv.none of them care leucs. Pums on their own tincs on their own.
