Cannisters at different angles are best. They may choose the broms over them but they get to pick what suits them.

Breeding age, around 8 months to a yr.

No water needed. The water trapped in broms and cannisters is where the tads will develop.

Before thoughts of breeding though you need to get happy frogs. Basically this comes down to viv set up and live food culturing.

my experience breeding variabilis, film pots at an angle 1/4 filled with water as they tend to lay just above water line or sometimes in the water. for best results i'd recommend pulling the tadpoles as the parents wont care for them in the viv.
